My Crazy European Adventure: TAKE TWO

This week was a brand new week and as many of you might have guessed I have a lot more to tell you about all of the fun filled adventures I have had. We were headed to Budapest, Hungary the last time I wrote, well we have now finally made it to Italy so I have a lot to fill you in on. For starters I decided that after visiting the Hapsburg summer palace in Vienna, Austria I am now taking applications for a sugar daddy. I will say this for Empress Maria Theresa Hapsburg the lady had class, and damn she could do things with gold. I did find out from our guide that she had sixteen children and ruled the empire. If that isn’t multitasking I don’t know what is. Truthfully she probably thought that ruling the country was nothing with that many kids, and she was pregnant all the time while doing it. SCREW THAT!

But besides all that I wanted to tell you first about Budapest. I will say that I did not really like Budapest at first, but after being there for a day or two it sort of grew on me. I did like the Opera house that we got to tour. I thought it was funny that the Hapsburg emperor of the empire who lived in Vienna in the early 18th century told the Hungarian’s they couldn’t have as big of an opera house as his, so they decked it out so that it would be prettier. The funny thing is it actually was! I loved the inside you would not believe how elegant the wood work was even. People always ask what did those people do without television well apparently they constructed Opera Houses and Cathedrals. Anyway I guess he got pissed when he showed up to the party and realized his opera house was ugly.

We also learned that this uptight guy’s wife was beloved by all because she was so beautiful. Our tour guide informed us that she didn’t allow people to portrait her after thirty or so because she wanted to be forever beautiful. To that I say congrats sweet heart you must of really had a huge stick up your butt! Oh and if you wanted to know who the inventor of dieting was…. It was her! So she must have had it pretty far up there because seriously no one likes to diet. Again her Fault!

After we went to Budapest we went to Vienna and there we went to an Orchestra type of concert after we all had a fancy dinner together. The music was fantastic but the food was better. I am not going to lie if I come back home without gaining weight I have accomplished miracles people because the food here is awesome. After we toured around Vienna we went to one of my favorite places, Salzburg! This is where they filmed most of “The Sound of Music”. For those of you who don’t know that is my favorite movie, well okay it is a tie between that and “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Sue me I like old movies. What kind of self-proclaimed nerd would I be if I didn’t?

The best part of Salzburg were the mountains because to be honest you would not believe how beautiful the mountains actually are. I know realistically they are just rocks but truthfully they were so much more than that. We went to the Eagle’s Nest to get the best view of them. Sidebar apparently it was originally built by the Nazis for Hitler to enjoy but he had altitude sickness so he barely went there, obviously someone didn’t do their research! Now it is a place for tourists and Austrians alike to get an amazing view of the Alps. I am finally in Italy and it has been quiet the journey getting here. I am really excited for the rest of the semester, but most of all I am excited for the school year to get underway. I can’t wait to meet new people and explore! Bye for now I will write more soon!

My Crazy European Adventure: Week One

So as most of you know I am now half way around the world. To some of you this may seem like the best thing ever, thank god she is finally gone! Others of you may miss me and still others of you may not care. Well, if you are reading my blog I am going to assume you care, so here it is the moment you have all been waiting for. It is time to fill you in on my European adventures and to let you know that Ben, my Dad, and I have not killed each other yet so you can sleep soundly tonight.
So far I have been to Munich, Germany, Prague, Czech Republic, and I am now in Budapest, Hungary. I have enjoyed each place for different reasons. I really like the Glockenspiel in the town square in Germany and I loved all of the Polka music and of course Prague Castle in the Czech Republic. I have only just gotten to Budapest so I will have to fill you in the next time I blog. I can say this much I have met a lot of really fun people on our trip so far.
There are about forty five people on our trip so you can imagine how full our tour bus is. Most of us are from Australia or America, but there are also people from England, South Africa, and South Korea. I can’t wait to see more and learn more, and of course fill you all in on the little details. So far I have discovered that the woman from South Korea is a maintence and big and bad, but she does know how to take a damn good picture.
How do I know this you ask? I had to take at least sixteen pictures of her all in one night because there was something wrong in each one. Needless to say I was thankful for the Hungarian wine. There is a couple from Australia on our trip and I didn’t quiet catch their names but the wife kind of reminds me of my mom she is quick to laugh and loves to help the other tourists. One lady from the south is named Melanie and you would not believe how funny she is. I can honestly say moving to Tennessee when I graduate is going to be a blast if everyone that lives there is even a fraction as funny as she is.
I will write again soon for now I better go I have to be up early and the time difference is seven hours. Yikes! I can’t wait to see more and explore more of Europe see you all again in December! Ciao for now!

I Nerd Out!

Sometimes I need to nerd out. Yeah it has now become a thing for me to “NERD OUT”. I have this habit of wanting to talk about the worst topics. I love talking about anything and everything because as you all know I never shut up, but truthfully you don’t even know the half of it and that’s the sad part. I am a huge nerd. I love to read and write obviously or you wouldn’t be reading my super nerdy blog. Here’s the thing, I have recently made the observation that perhaps it is time to put away the glasses and chill for a second. At the pace I am going with all of this geekery I will have ten cats before I even graduate college, and I’m a dog person!

I get the feeling that most men aren’t into the whole nerdy chick thing. Plus let’s be real here don’t exactly look like Jess from “New GIRL” so there is strike one. Maybe I am reading too much into this, but truthfully if you are on the receiving end of someone’s nerd fest it would probably get to be a little old after a while. I am a long way off from being full on nerd, but who knows maybe comic books are my next big thing. At this point it truly wouldn’t surprise me. Lately the only thing that I seem to know how to do is act like an idiot in front of people. Sorry but “Game of Thrones” just demands to be talked about and I can’t help it if I have a problem.

It also kind of bothers me that so many people are so close minded. I know that watching a documentary on New Year’s Eve is probably the last thing anyone besides me would want to do, but I would encourage you to broaden your horizons a little bit. There is more to life than instagraming a selfie of yourself or your food. You would think that would get boring to people after a while, but hey who am I to judge? Truthfully the only thing I can really say for certain is I may be a nerd, but at least I’m not boring. So to all my fellow nerds don’t let the haters hate because even if you can’t seem to stop obsessing over the next season of Glee there is someone out there just as nerdy as you.
